Hey fuckers, can you keep your shit where it belongs?

I will agree that my posting style has somehow become more vitriolic than before I was a Denner. I think that's a stupid unconscious method to Frankify. Although I do hate Frank's posting style even if it works. hmm.

Bump. Because you stupid jackasses have turned this board into a waste, and are driving off the members who are actually intelligent. I have no problem if you want to fucking rip each other's throats out with your teeth - BUT MAKE YOUR OWN GODDAMN THREAD TO DO SO.

I tried that before. It... was less than effective. It had the effect of encouraging people to flame me on other threads for things I said in the one.
I am all for any sort of agreement where someone is not allowed to carry old fights long after they are over.
[EDit] "Over" meaning whether or not all parties agree if it's over or not.

No, we can't. Just because you're annoyed that a thread took a direction that you don't like doesn't mean that the rest of us give a shit.

The problem isn't that "A thread took a direction that I didn't like". It's that you guys are feeding obvious trolls, again and again. Plebian was obviously just posting to threads to cause pointless flame wars, again and again. And yet you took the bait, every fucking time. I'd rather people not feed the trolls, and have some 4e threads that don't turn into "The plebian show" every single time.
...And now Plebian's making a bunch of accounts to try to harass FBMF.
This will not go well.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

I've lost track, how many times has Darwinism been banned, anyway? I *think* it's five.

Plebian's not a troll. He's a very loud dumbass suffering from what I suspect is massive amounts of Dunning-Kroger, but that doesn't make him a troll. He's trying to make valid points. Being loud and annoying on the internet isn't sufficient to be a troll.
And really, I would be surprised if that 4e thread didn't occasionally spiral off into "another reason 4e sucks" "that doesn't suck, blah blah blah" "no, it does suck, blah blah blah." Too many people here with very strong opinions, and I don't consider that a bad thing, it's just going to happen naturally over the course of discussion. fbmf's got it right, just prune off-topic threads into new threads so both conversations can continue without trodding all over eachother.

I actually largely agree with this.DSMatticus wrote:Plebian's not a troll. I didn't ban Plebian because he's a 4E-ophile. That's actually perfectly okay with me.
I see it like this: Disagreeing with FBMF, even at the top of your lungs, and telling me to eat a dick or an entire keg of them is perfectly okay. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Ranting and raving against The Great Fence Builder is another matter.
Bottom line: You guys are a rough crowd. Finding another moderator (A) with thick enough skin to handle you guys for any length of time and (B) that I trust to be impartial enough to be a mod has proved impossible over the years.
Even Zherog rarely moderates per se, preferring to mostly do IT/Database stuff. I am happy to have him, but I do the lion's share of moderating on my own.
That's all well and good. I love this board and I like the crowd. I like being able to bounce my homebrew ideas off you guys and get honest brutal feedback. A lot of times I blatantly steal words (entire pages, in fact) verbatim for my homebrew rules.
But when it comes to time to enforce the law, I can't have public dissension in the ranks. Of course you are more than welcome to disagree with a mod decision, even mine, but do it respectfully and via PM.
In all honesty, I would have let Plebe back after a 10 day ban (it has happened before to other posters), but now that he's making a conspicuous dick of himself I am less inclined with each re-registration to show mercy.
We shall see.
Game On,
fbmf
PS - It is possible however unlikely that "additions" and not "editions" is what he meant. If so, I am not angry at him for pointing out the error, even rudely. Hell, I was a dick about it. Why shouldn't he be?
After all, FBMF said that, not TGFB.

I think he honestly believed what he was saying, but I still think him a "troll" - namely, his posting style is designed to CAUSE fights, not win them. Notice how he did the very popular troll technique of "chop paragraphs up into sentences, or sentence fragments, and comment on each one". And it didn't matter thread, or what topic, if he saw ANY excuse to dive in on his personal crusade, he would. He wasn't looking for discussions, he was flat-out looking to start fights. That, to me, is trolling.

Sorry, but all I can think of the newest SN is "someone must be having difficulty with his bootlaces."
"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."
So, we have a new user named "FrankTrolololman".
Guess who's back!
And conveniently hidden by Fluttershy joining right after!

Then again, the worst regular posters here on rare occasions contribute positively to discussions.
